Buy and sell with confidence
Marketplace Safety
Take sensible steps before you buy, sell, rent or share personal information. RIKLAMI MALTA is an advertising platform — we do not handle payments, hold deposits, or act as an intermediary between buyers and sellers.
⚠️ NEVER pay a deposit or send money in advance
Do NOT give any deposit, advance payment, bank transfer, or money of any kind to any seller before you have met them face to face, inspected the item in person, and are fully satisfied. RIKLAMI MALTA will NEVER ask you to pay through the site. Always deal directly with the seller — call them, arrange a meeting, inspect the goods, and pay only when you are happy. If a seller asks for a deposit before meeting, walk away — it is a scam.
Always meet face to face
Every transaction on RIKLAMI MALTA should be completed in person. Call the seller directly using the contact number on the listing, arrange a convenient meeting place, inspect the item thoroughly, and only hand over money when you are completely satisfied. Never buy anything sight unseen, and never send payment before meeting the seller.
Never pay a deposit or advance
No legitimate seller on RIKLAMI MALTA will ask you to pay a deposit, reservation fee, or any advance payment before you have met them in person. If someone asks you to transfer money, pay via Western Union, send gift cards, or pay any amount before the meeting — stop immediately and report the listing. This is always a scam.
Meet in a safe, public place
Choose a busy, well-lit public location for your meeting — a café, a shopping centre car park, or a police station forecourt. Bring a friend or family member if you can. For high-value items such as cars, property viewings, or expensive goods, take someone with you. Let someone you trust know where you are going and who you are meeting.
Inspect and verify before you pay
Examine the item carefully before handing over any money. For vehicles, check the registration documents, VIN, and service history. For property, verify ownership documents and engage a notary. For electronics and other goods, test that everything works as described. If the seller refuses to let you inspect the item properly, do not proceed.
Verify the seller
Check that the seller's contact details are genuine. Be cautious of sellers who are reluctant to speak on the phone, who cannot meet locally, or whose story keeps changing. Verified seller badges on RIKLAMI MALTA indicate that the account email has been confirmed — they do not constitute a background check or guarantee of the seller's identity.
Weapons — Maltese law applies
The sale, purchase, transfer, and possession of real firearms, airguns, ammunition, and certain bladed weapons in Malta is strictly regulated by the Arms Act (Cap. 480) and related legislation. Both the buyer AND the seller must hold the appropriate valid licence issued by the Malta Police Force (Weapons Licensing Unit) before any transaction takes place. It is a criminal offence to buy, sell, or possess a firearm or regulated weapon without the correct licence. RIKLAMI MALTA does not verify licences — it is the sole responsibility of each party to ensure full legal compliance. Listings for unlicensed weapons are prohibited and will be removed. If you suspect an unlicensed weapon is being advertised, report the listing immediately.
